A bride and her betrothed

When she speaks his name, he answers.

When she loves her betrothed, he responds with his gentle touch on her cheek.

When she adores him as the wedding day approaches,

Their time together never seems to be enough.

When she cries because she longs to marry him and be with him, he comforts her.

When she has a fleeting doubt of his love, he quickly re-assures her.

He surprises her with gifts of his presence, unexpectedly.

He lets her know in ways she understands just how much he loves her.

He looks deeply into her eyes to assure her of his love for her.

They dread being apart because that reinforces they’re yet to marry.

He thinks of ways to cherish her after they marry.

They share a special song and sing it together.

He loves to hold her hand when he’s near her.

His bride is who he is coming for, very soon. His bride prepares herself by purifying herself in her soul.

1 John 3:3 The Passion Translation (Passion Translation)  And all who focus their hope on him will always be purifying themselves, just as Jesus is pure.
