What's in a Smile?

The corners are turned up

Yet, in the past they were always down

The eyes sparkle with hope

Yet, in the past they were dark

Cheeks full of promise of the coming day

Yet, in the past laid barren against the frame of hate

Teeth white and bright

Yet, once stained with past disgrace

When words spoken destroyed another

Without the first pause to consider the heart of the matter

The smile of a heart made pure through fiery trials

Where smoke can not be found

And flames no longer remain

The smile of a soul made pure

by placing all resentment and hate on the one true Son

Made of love so pure

Now, He smiles through you

If you chose to let Him in your heart

And re-arrange your days by His amazing grace
